Eat Healthily.

Everyone should understand what a balanced diet is, it consists of eating the five food groups in moderation. Fad diets where they cut out one of the food groups is not reccomended . The only 'true' diet you can go on is to lose and maintain weight that is safe and actually works is to eat a balanced diet, and smaller servings. Balanced diets are more filling. This blog endorses the mediterranean diet. Which is a five food group diet with some specifics added such as olive oil and beans. The peasant diet of the mediterranean is known to make people be healthier and live longer than other parts of the world. Remember, it is not all about your weight, it is also about nutrition.

A mediterranean diet consists of, eating simple wholefoods. Including, fish; olive oil, dairy in moderation; large servings of fruit, veggies; legumes and nuts; protein from beans; no processed foods; wholegrains such as brown rice and wholemeal flour; skip the sugar; drink a little red wine; daily exercise; semi-vegetarianism, and low on red lean meats. That's it in a nutshell.

Some clues to living it. Are to eat vegetarian meals two or three times a week, fish once or twice, chicken once, and occasionally red meat. If you must have sweets eat a small portion of dark chocolate. Or make some cookies with stevia and whole wheat flour. Cut down the coffee, the alcohol, any other bad habits, and do some exercise.

A word on Vitamin Deficiencies.

Have your doctor test for vitamin deficiencies. Deficiencies in something like iron, zinc, vitamin C, vitamin D, calcium or the B group vitamins can have serious effects on your health. They might prescribe a vitamin supplement. Whilst it is unadvisable to take antioxidents in pill form, it is quite safe to use most vitamin supplements. On the whole try to get your vitamin intake from a natural source, such as fruit or vegetables. Also lentils and mushrooms are packed with iron and are a nice change from heavy red meats.

Our next edition, will be on exercise.

Create Your Day.

Photo by  Sedki Alimam  on  Unsplash This article is about the power of intention. Intentions are like a seed, that we sow and, later reap. Say that we set our intention, to enjoy our day. So you say to yourself, I intend to enjoy my day. I might later on do this, or that because it will help me to enjoy my day. Or, I might work in the cafe today, because it is nice weather and the time will pass by pleasantly. Or something more specific, I would really enjoy to have lunch with friends, so I arrange that. I intend for the conversation to go well, and all of us have a great time, and we do. Then, maybe a week later, I do like to dance for my exercise but I also like the luxury of the gym, it's just something that I like, so I think I will spend one evening at the gym this week. So Yay! Then suddenly I am quantum leaping, from one enjoyment to another, reaping what I sowed. And this is such a learning experience, because I am experiencing my own power, a...
