Everybody (unless you are disabled) uses their hands for work, chores and hobbies. But sometimes the activity takes it's toll and you can get RSI, Arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome amongst other illnesses of the joints and tendons. In these cases it can become very painful to use your hands. This can be frustrating and disappointing in life. Thankfully there are some things you can do that can prevent and repair damage to your hands.

Basin.

If your hands are sore and you need some relief fill a basin with hot water and dunk your hands in it for a minute. Then fill the basin up with cold water and dunk your hands in it for a minute. Repeat a few times.

Fish oil

Fish oil is often recommended for joint problems. If you don't eat fish you can try vegan omega three capsules.

Curcumin

I can personally testify that curcumin is excellent for your joints. It's also meant to be a super-food that helps you to feel young and well.

Pliers

You can buy hand exercising pliers at a general store. You only have to use them for a little bit (say 20 reps) each day to improve the strengths of your hands.

Weights

Doing Weights strengthens your whole body and skeletal and muscular system.

Stretches

Stretching your hands relieves cramps and increases blood flow.

Breaks

Take at least a ten minute break every two hours and stretch your hands and body.

Compression gloves.

Wear these if your hands are very sore. You can also wear them overnight, they are very beneficial for sore hands.

Work

Work can strengthen your hands but it can also cause RSI and other issues with your joints. It's important to find your own balance with what helps and what doesn't help. Don't push yourself too much through the experience of pain. Get plenty of rest and practice healthy ergonomics such as a good desk chair and good posture. Try to affirm that your work will strengthen your hands.

Appearance

Don't forget to moisturise, treat and use sunscreen on your hands. Look out for discolorations and if they appear get them seen to by your doctor. Now and again coat your hands with almond oil and wear some cotton gloves overnight. You will be amazed how soft and healthy they feel.

Ginger

Ginger is an anti-inflammatory. This can help with pain and irritation in the hands. Add one tea-spoonful of crushed ginger to a cup of tea and enjoy.

Physiotherapy

Your physiotherapist will work with you to diagnose the problem and develop a set of exercises that can help to relieve pain and strengthen the hands.

Medication

Your doctor might provide special medicines for arthritis. They could also prescribe pain meds in the event that it is so bad that you need them.

There are many topical treatments for muscle and joint pain such as tiger-balm or fisiocrem. These may provide some temporary relief.

So we have covered a few different ways to look after your hands, relieving pain and preventing further damage. Your hands are one of your most important assets. It's important that you look after them so that you can keep active well into old age.

Create Your Day.

Photo by  Sedki Alimam  on  Unsplash This article is about the power of intention. Intentions are like a seed, that we sow and, later reap. Say that we set our intention, to enjoy our day. So you say to yourself, I intend to enjoy my day. I might later on do this, or that because it will help me to enjoy my day. Or, I might work in the cafe today, because it is nice weather and the time will pass by pleasantly. Or something more specific, I would really enjoy to have lunch with friends, so I arrange that. I intend for the conversation to go well, and all of us have a great time, and we do. Then, maybe a week later, I do like to dance for my exercise but I also like the luxury of the gym, it's just something that I like, so I think I will spend one evening at the gym this week. So Yay! Then suddenly I am quantum leaping, from one enjoyment to another, reaping what I sowed. And this is such a learning experience, because I am experiencing my own power, a...

We may even start making errors which can be detrimental to ourselves and others. Memory is the integral part of our brain that helps us learn things, retain them and apply our knowledge. Following are some things that can prevent and help with memory loss.  Cardio There's no doubt about it, but exercise is fundamental to out brains, body and souls. Exercise, especially peak cardio exercise is one of the best things you can do for your brain.
