An Introduction to Productivity.

To measure your productivity, use accounting software. It's not enough to  make it or trade it, or learn the service, you also have to sell it. (And pay taxes). Accounting is not that hard,  you put the sale price minus the cost price and tax. Then try to pay yourself for your time. It's up to you what percentage you sell at.

As a business person, you should be able to buy your stock material from wholesalers, to make it cheaper. Make sure you keep all of your receipts in one folder for the financial year you are in.

There are marketing strategies you can use yourself such as adwords and facebook advertising, but you might want to get that side of things managed by a marketing expert. In essense productivity means, doing more in less time, usually.  There is more to it though.

If you can add value to your product, that it fills a need, or it's a brand new solution to a known problem, and give people more reasons to buy it, then you can sell more products, possibly at higher prices. Lowering the prices is also a technique you can use to compete in the market and sell more.

GPD, or gross domestic product is the most important factor in measuring the overall wealth of a country. Therefore for you at business level it is vital that you have good turnaround in your company or trade. As the saying goes, earn before you spènd. If it is necessary and you get more for your dollar, more done, and more sales, then you can outsource or delegate some, or all of the work.

So if you have the product or service, ready, it's time to start marketing  and selling it. If it's not ready you had better roll up your sleeves and try to develop, until you have enough to sell and run your business. People talk about dropshipping, but unless you can really add value to it and have a good marketing plan, it won't work. Rock and mortar stores still attract plenty of customers if the shop is succesful, or you could try a market. There are plenty of traditional ways to market your products, and no end of online marketing techniques. In the old days, salesmen would spend all day simply door-knocking.

If you are starting a business and you need capital you might be able to get a bank loan.  But don't forget whether the business fails or succeeds you will still need to pay the loan back. The saying goes, neither borrow nor lend. That said, many successful  businesses have started up with a business loan. You can also lower some of the costs by partnering up with somebody, or by trying to attract investors.

The Etsy platform, started as a crafting circle and has grown into a worldwide business. J.K. Rowling was a single parent on welfare who wrote the Harry Potter series at a cafe. The book was rejected multiple times before a publisher finally accepted it, making her the richest woman in the world at the time. This saying you will like, If you want to write, then sit down and write! Some dropshippers have made millions. You can only try. If at first you don't succeed, then try, try, try again.

If you enjoy your work, you will be more motivated to produce more and more. Sadly not everybody enjoys their work, they have responsibilities, and cares. Or they can't think of what to do, or how on earth to get the capital. They can't afford to take a risk. Or they are just too scared. Bottom line though, diligence, means to take delight in. If you enjoy it, you are probably good at it, or will be in time. Almost everything in life takes faith. Ask and you shall receive. If you feel lazy, the more you do, the more you will be able to do.

Lastly, all work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy, all play and no work, makes Jack a mere toy. Make sure you offset your work, with exercise and a hobby. Exercising in the morning is a great start to the day, but you can do it anytime outside of 2 hours before bed, it helps you to stress less, and gain energy, not to mention keeps your weight in check. Hobbies help you gain skills and confidence and may even turn into a small business. Fill your calender with a few social events too, it's in part a reason for everything else.

Enjoy and I wish you all success in selling your products or your employers products and services.
