Positivity Pages.

Morning pages were invented by Julia Cameron in The Artists Way - which is a course on creativity. Therein, every morning you get up and write three A4 pages from stream of consciousness. You put pen to paper and don't lift it off until you're done. The morning pages help to unleash your feelings, help you to be creative; to express yourself and help to quiet your inner critic. But I have a little spin on the morning pages where you write the three pages, but everything you write is positive.

This way you create your day with a positive attitude and by making affirmations. Your word really is your wand as we have learnt from the book of the same name by Florence Scovel Shinn. You speak over things; you improve your mood, your life, and combat negativity. You visualize a promising future and put yourself in the drivers seat. It also helps to cope with adversity and ward off disease.

Write down virtuous ideas. Create a positive experience in the universe, and shape your destiny with your positivity pages. Negate bad things with positive affirmations. Fill your pages with hope and faith. Plan your life with the good life, the beautiful life, happiness and joie de vivre.

Positivity pages can help you to learn optimism and see the glass as half full. Learned Optimism is a Positive Psychology book by Martin Seligman that expounds the benefits of optimism and how you can change your outlook to improve your life. Pessimism is a downwards spiral and optimism is upwards. Being optimistic can improve your health; motivation levels and, potential for success at work and life.

Overall a positive attitude can increase your physical health and well being; manage depression and other mental illnesses, help you succeed in work and life and even help you live longer. So make it a habit to write your morning pages every day.

Create Your Day.

Photo by  Sedki Alimam  on  Unsplash This article is about the power of intention. Intentions are like a seed, that we sow and, later reap. Say that we set our intention, to enjoy our day. So you say to yourself, I intend to enjoy my day. I might later on do this, or that because it will help me to enjoy my day. Or, I might work in the cafe today, because it is nice weather and the time will pass by pleasantly. Or something more specific, I would really enjoy to have lunch with friends, so I arrange that. I intend for the conversation to go well, and all of us have a great time, and we do. Then, maybe a week later, I do like to dance for my exercise but I also like the luxury of the gym, it's just something that I like, so I think I will spend one evening at the gym this week. So Yay! Then suddenly I am quantum leaping, from one enjoyment to another, reaping what I sowed. And this is such a learning experience, because I am experiencing my own power, a...
